COAG Standing Council on Environment and Water

Welcome to the home of the COAG Standing Council on Environment and Water.

The COAG Standing Council on Environment and Water (Council) was established following the 2010 review of the ministerial council system by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG).

COAG Standing Councils are established to achieve COAG's strategic themes by pursuing and monitoring priority issues of national significance that require sustained, collaborative effort; and address key areas of shared Commonwealth and state / territory responsibility and funding.

Councils play a key role in progressing important work across all levels of government.
